What Causes tE Error in Lg Washer?

Fact is:

Any Lg washer or washing machine will always have lots of problems. It’s important for you to detect and fix any problem so that you can put the washer back to work.  And the causes of LG washing machines the error.

#1: Faulty Thermistor

A thermistor is an electrical device found at the back of your washer drum that measures water temperature. In other words: It senses cold water and supplies power to the heating element to warm the water to a specific degree.  And when the water reaches the desired temperature, it stops sending more power to the heating elements to avoid overheating. Here’s how I did mine: I disconnected the thermistor, squirted a little conductive grease into the pinholes, reconnected the jack, and tied a zip tightly from end to end, snuggling up the connection. It never gave me an error again.  

# 2: Faulty Heating Element

The heating element generates ALOT of heat to raise the water temperature inside the washer drum. And it works to ensure the expected temperature is reached. The device has an outer metal layer to pass ELECTRICITY to generate lots of heat enough to raise the water temperature.

The result? When the desired temperature is reached, the heating element shuts off until the water in the drum is cold.  There are two causes of a faulty heating element that trigger lg washing machine error code te: Either the outer metal layer of the heating element has rust OR The heating element is bent.  Both situations trigger LG washing machine error code te.

Here’s what I came across.

But first a warning:

Before removing the faulty thermistor and replacing it with another one make sure you have unplugged the washer.  After checking the video you can now install the thermistor by mounting it to the cord and reconnecting the electrical connectivity.

How to Test the New LG Thermistor

Testing on an Lg thermistor involves the application of heat. First, you’ll need to unplug the dryer, disconnect the wires of the thermistor and remove the thermistor from the washer.

You’ll need a multimeter to carry out an Ohm test and check the resistance of the thermistor. Bear in mind that you can’t do continuity on a thermistor.

Place one of the motor probes on each of the thermistor wire terminals. A good thermistor should have an ohm rating of 11k at room temperature. If your thermistor records a higher or lower than this, you will have to replace it. A resistance value will vary depending on the temperature of the washer.

The heating element can’t be repaired. When they fail, you’ll need to replace them. To replace it, you’ll need to shut off the power and water supply to the Lg washer. If you have a front-loading washer you’ll access it by removing the machine’s front panel.
